WhatsApp’s most recent beta versions have shown a few new features. According to current news, WhatsApp may soon upgrade its WhatsApp Desktop software with a new feature and provide new capabilities to its app for iPhone users. These features are already enabled in WhatsApp for Android and WhatsApp for iOS. Meanwhile, WhatsApp for iOS beta users has received an update that includes the group polls functionality, which allows them to create a new poll for a group. The functionality, which is still in development, will enable users to add up to 12 different selections.

The news of WhatsApp Desktop link previews comes from a post by WABetainfo. This portal evaluates beta features before they are made available to the general public. According to the article, WhatsApp has published an upgrade that allows WhatsApp Desktop to create link previews once more. This capability, however, is no longer available on WhatsApp Web with the rollout of multi-device capabilities. To differentiate the two, WhatsApp Desktop is a stand-alone programme that can be installed on a Windows PC or Mac and used separately. On the other hand, WhatsApp Web is WhatsApp’s browser-based version.

The second information also comes from WABetainfo, which says that the WhatsApp for iOS 22.8.0.72 beta version improves the group polls function. The functionality was first noticed last month and allows users to create polls in group conversations and add up to 12 alternative answers to a topic. It also allows users to rearrange the order of the selections. The feature is in the works. It should be mentioned that the capability of group polls is now accessible in other messaging applications such as Facebook Messenger and Telegram.

As per the WhatsApp tracker, the group polls feature should also be protected by end-to-end encryption. This means that only the group’s participants can see the poll and the results. It may also make its way to WhatsApp for Android and WhatsApp Desktop.
