The BBC also claimed that its Russian service has been banned in the country, citing Moscow’s state-owned news agency RIA. Meanwhile, a correspondent for the German news website Der Spiegel stated that Russia has blocked Twitter, Facebook, the BBC, Deutsche Welle, and app stores.
There have been multiple claims of a broad cyber strike on Kyiv since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24. A hacker organisation used Facebook to target key Ukrainian military officers, politicians, and a journalist, according to Meta Platforms, the parent company of Facebook.

Since February 27, Russian media platforms owned or controlled by Moscow, such as RT and Sputnik, have been withdrawn from the Apple App Store and Google Play shops in the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, and Ukraine.
