According to a survey by Oxford Economics, an independent consulting organisation, YouTube’s creative ecosystem generated significant economic value and will generate Rs 6,800 crore to the Indian economy by 2020. In India, the paper looked at YouTube’s economic, sociological, and lasting influence. According to the report, YouTube’s expanding creator ecosystem provided 6,83,900 full-time equivalent jobs in the United States in 2020.
The Oxford Economics analysis includes non-advertising revenues such as subscriptions and alternative monetisation, as well as off-platform revenues such as fan gatherings and sponsorships, in addition to YouTube-driven advertising earnings.
