New Instagram feature tests show resemblance to other platforms!
Instagram is testing a new feature that would allow users to post long-form videos, mimicking other social media platforms like YouTube and Facebook.
Instagram is testing a new feature that allows users to repost a post directly to their feed. The new feature, which is currently being tested with a small group of users, appears to be a response to the popularity of Reels, Instagram’s short-form video platform.
Matt Navarra revealed that a function allowing users to repost content to Instagram would arrive relatively soon.
The new feature would allow users to share someone else’s post with their followers, similar to how users can share posts on other social media platforms. It’s unclear how exactly the new feature would work, but it appears that users would be able to choose whether they want to share the post with their followers or keep it private.
The Instagram team is still working out the kinks of the new feature, but they hope to roll it out to all users in the near future. This would be a major convenience for users, who have long had to resort to workaround methods like screenshotting or passing along posts manually in order to share them with friends.
The social media expert also shared images by means of a thread on an app a week prior. But even we cannot be let down to witness how this is not the first time we heard of it. Alessandro Paluzzi was the first to notice it in May.
The new feature is still in the early stages of development and it’s unclear when or if it will be rolled out to all users. But given the popularity of Reels, it’s likely that Instagram will eventually launch the new feature for all users.
It’s not yet clear how exactly this new feature will work, but it could potentially revolutionize the way people use and interact with Instagram. Stay tuned for more updates as we learn more about this exciting development!
