In September 2025 Meta the company of Facebook, Instagram and Threads has do some new updates to its Community Notes feature. Meta do this for slow down the spread of fake news and provide users with more trustworthy information online.

So now on if a user likes comments on and shares a post that later receives a Community Note they will get a notification.

This alert notify you that the post has been corrected or given extra context. The meta mission is clear keep people informed even after they have involved with misleading content.

Meta is also opening the door for wider sharing. Any user can now request a Community Note on a post. Also people can rate notes to show if they find them useful. Notes with higher ratings will be shown more if weaker ones will not make it complete.

So the key numbers more than 250,000 contributors have recently joined Community Notes. Out of these about 70,000 are active. the total closely 15,000 notes have been written. So only around 6% of them have been published for publicly
