Instagram has again introduced some new interesting features for users and creators the latest update give three major changes a Friends Reels tab and a Repost option also a Live Map feature that lets followers see your location.


Liked Reels Now Visible to Friends

If you remember the early days of Instagram you force recall that you could see everything your friends liked or commented on. Yes that feature is now back.
With this new Friends Reels tab update your followers can now see which reels you’ve liked under a new section called the Friends tab. But Instagram says this will help users connect better a many people are calling it a privacy issue. Not everyone wants their followers to know what kind of content they are liking or not.


New Repost Option

Instagram has also added a Repost feature allowing all users to share others your posts directly to their own feed. The idea is to make sharing easier but some users think it feels unnecessary and copied from other social media platforms like X (Twitter) and TikTok.

Live Map Raises Privacy Concerns

The new Live Map feature is another important and major update. It allows users to share their real time location with their close friends or a custom list. While Instagram says this helps people stay connected many users believe it could be unsafe because not everyone is comfortable letting others know where they are at any given time.
