I have heard a lot that I just need a lot of views, and YouTube will start paying me! And I know that I am not alone who heard this.

Let’s burst this myth: “More views = More money.”

Let’s talk. What is truth? YouTube doesn’t pay you just because people watch your videos. What YouTube pay for is ads.
Specifically, when you see ads before, during or after any video you watch on YouTube that’s where the money comes from. Basically YouTube shares a part of that add revenue with the YouTuber.
Therefore, views matter but only when your channel is monetized and also meets YouTube eligibility criteria.

Let’s see how YouTube actually pays creators:

A creator must be a part of YouTube partner program for that it requires

-Having 1000 subscribers.
-4000 hours in the last 12 months, a 10 million short views in the last 90 days
First, you qualify then get approved after that add start showing on your videos and then yes, your views can start earning you money. However, this not happened because of views, but because of add shown on your videos.

Why people confuse views with payment

The myth exists because people see big YouTubers and creators with millions of views, earning a big amount and assume views = Money.

Things creator should know
Views matters, but as a creator, you should aim for the engagement such as ~ shares, comments, basically interactions so that more and more users attract towards your videos as a creator needs to concentrate and manage all the tthings, whether it is views or the shares or comments as these things ttogether make or break your channel not only views. On the other hand, if you are talking about the payment, these things are only the medium but ultimately ads are what matter.

To sum up

People think that views are what bring money; however, it’s your consistency, efforts, content, storytelling, how you drive emotions or how you manage to connect with the audience and the way you promote your videos as per your requirements. The quality viewers you are getting provided. In short, money from YouTube comes from ads and long-term growth comes from maintaining all of the things mentioned.
