As, we all know that Instagram is constantly try to experiment with features that help creators grow faster.
As this feature allows creators to test their content with a new audience base before pushing it to their own followers.

This feature was launched by Instagram but recently, Instagram has quietly updated the rules for trial reels, and users are now thinking what will actually work now.

However , if you want to grow using trial reels … these new updates are very important to understand

What are the Trial reels on Instagram ?

It is designed to help the creators.. as it allows creators to experiment to try new things.
Trial reels feature is good for creators those who overthink a lot of being judged by people.
As it doesn’t direct shows the content to your followers but it shows the reel to your non followers.

So this practice helps the platform to test whether your content is engaging. Instagram reel perhaps push it to other users as per the response is good or bad.

This feature is amazing and incredibly powerful for all the creator trying to reach new viewers.

New access requirements for trial reels

As per the late update on this feature – Not every account can use trial reels.

Let’s see how to unlock access

– You account should have at least 1000 followers

That means this features targets creators who already have that basic follower count of 1k

– Daily posting limit for trial reels
So earlier there was no specific limit but now Instagram limits the number of trial reels you can post per day
– Limit varies by different account and channels
– Minimum limit is around 5 Trial reels per day not more than that

What if you exceed this limit ?

Instagram may temporarily suspend your access to make trial reels for up to 30 days

Why Instagram is setting this limit – it’s Insta’s way of preventing spam and low quality mass posting.

Instagram is cracking down on duplicate trial reels

One more big rule introduced by Instagram for trial reel is .. how Instagram will treat duplicate content.

Have you also heard that post two same reels … one in trial reel for non followers and one normally …

but it has changed now , posting the same trial reels multiple times is now considered low – quality or spam content.

Instagram will now on expect every trial reel to be unique and not same.

This directly means that now creators will not be able to repost the same reel again and again just to check performance

What changes will not be enough?

As we know many creators will still try to repost the same reel with small tweaks … but what they need to know is that Instagram’s system will easily detect these minor edits.

According to the latest update, I am mentioning all the changes which will not be enough to make a reel unique as it won’t be counted as changes by Instagram .

– Simply changing the audio
– Modification of the text
– Just using different caption
– Adding a new filter won’t make any change

If the Core Video will be same .. then Instagram may still treat it as duplicate content.

So ,

What should a creator do instead ?

Instead of reposting the same reel
– Edit different clips
– Changing the hook can help
– Adding new visuals or scenes

Remember the more unique the reel feels to Instagram… the better the chances that Instagram will test it with more audience.
